New Report on Spongy Cities from Helen Clark Foundation
In a major new report for the Helen Clark Foundation, Kali Mercier writes on the importance of designing cities to be more absorbent of rainfall. Called the “spongy cities” approach, it is becoming even more important as more extreme rainfall events impact our towns and cities. Our hard stormwater infrastructure cannot do the whole job. Nature-based solutions are a very important part of making our cities more resilient to the climate crisis.
