A summary of my week, 25 July

Issues of the week

“Big money and non-transparent donations to political parties are a curse in many, if not most, countries which hold elections. New Zealand too is impacted. Parliament has the opportunity to close gaps in law through Electoral Amendment Bill which it is currently considering.” Check out this article in Stuff.

Take a look at this excellent Twitter thread on the much needed public health response to monkeypox from @DrTomFrieden, former Director @CDCgov.

A new report on Global Public Investment was published on 27 July. “All countries contribute, all benefit, and all decide”. The report can be found here.

This week, I also commented on the recent killings in Myanmar which have been “condemned bythe Association of Southwest Asian Nations (ASEAN) as "highly reprehensible" & destructive to regional efforts to de-escalate the crisis”.

Check out my Twitter page for more information and links on these issues.
