The world must step in to end sexual violence in Tigray, Ethiopia
It's been devastating to read the accounts of rape and other sexual violence in Tigray, Ethiopia, since the conflict there began last November. Pramila Patten, the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, has drawn the attention of the UN Security Council to the great gap between its Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security and the reality on the ground for women and girls in Tigray and elsewhere.
