FIFTH LABOUR GOVERNMENT – PRIME MINISTER – 1999-2008

The Fifth Labour Government of New Zealand, led by Prime Minister Helen Clark, was in power from 10 December 1999 to 19 November 2008. During this period, the government implemented a range of policy reforms and initiatives. The 9th Floor, Episode 5: Helen Clark by RNZ, is an hour-long interview with Helen Clark about her three terms in power as she sought to draw a line under Rogernomics, unleash new social reforms and rethink New Zealand's place in the world. Michael Cullen’s Labour Saving - A Memoir also gives interesting insights into that period.
