Webinar with members of Global Commission on Drug Policy on case for #VoteYes in NZ referendum on legalisation of cannabis.
Last week I was joined by colleagues from the Global Commission on Drug Policy in a webinar on the case for legalising and regulating cannabis. Former Colombia President Juan Manuel Santos, former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour, and former West Australian Premier Geoff Gallop all shared their perspectives on the importance of abandoning the prohibition of cannabis and moving to legal regulation. See the video of the event. Thanks to Global Commission on Drug Policy, NZ Drug Foundation, and The Helen Clark Foundation for organising the event.
New Zealanders have the opportunity in the referendum due to be held at the same time as the general election this year to vote yes to the Government's proposed Cannabis Legalisation and Control Bill and to stop the criminalisation of those who use, possess, and supply cannabis. Don't forget to enrol and to vote - link to how to do that.
