I was born 70 years ago today
Seventy years ago today, 26 February 1950, I was born in the maternity wing of Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, as the eldest child of Margaret and George Clark of Te Pahu. Mum is sadly no longer with us, but Dad will celebrate his 98th birthday as I celebrate my seventieth. Those seventy years have gone quickly, but, looking back, events like university graduation, election to Parliament, becoming Prime Minister, and going to UNDP in New York all seem a long time ago now. Life continues to be very full. I am grateful to have good health, a wonderful family, many friends, and support networks at home and around the world. Special thanks to Peter Davis for standing with and by me for the past 43 years.
