My statement as Chair of EITI Board on military takeover in Myanmar.

As Chair of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Board, I have expressed my deep concern at the military takeover of government and the detention of elected politicians & civil society activists in Myanmar - an EITI member. Without strong democratic institutions, extractive sector governance reforms made to date in Myanmar & the potential for future progress are at risk. See my statement here: link.
