Symposium on the Myanmar crisis, 31 March 2023

Myanmar symposium Helen Clark

Myanmar, also known as Burma, has been facing political turmoil since the military seized power in a coup on February 1, 2021. The coup came after the National League for Democracy (NLD), led by Aung San Suu Kyi, won the 2020 elections by a landslide. Since then, the country has been in a state of unrest, with widespread protests, violence, and human rights violations.

Join us for a symposium which will explore opportunities for democracy and human rights in Myanmar. The event is free, open to anyone and will be held on:

31 March, 9am - 5pm

Victoria University of Wellington
