Voting for the New Zealand General Election and the two referenda
Voting for the New Zealand General Election and the two referenda has begun. I voted today. Don't miss out!
If you are an eligible New Zealand voter living offshore, you can now download your ballot papers, upload them when completed, and return them online. If a New Zealand Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate near you is physically open (during the pandemic, not all can be), then you could vote there.
If you are in New Zealand, go to the Electoral Commission NZ website to find out where the nearest polling place to you is. Quite a lot of advance polling places are open every day, including this weekend and next, until Election Day.
You can enrol or check your enrolment status online; and you can also enrol at the polling place where you go to vote.
It couldn't be easier to exercise your democratic right as a New Zealand voter to have your say on the future of our country.
If you are unable to go to a polling place, the Electoral Commission website has information about where to ask for assistance. Voting papers can be bought to your home.
