Join me online this Thursday midday NZ time, 2 September, as I discuss developments in Afghanistan with Chris Carter, Abbas Nazari, and Zakaria Hazaranejad. Abbas & Zak were both on the Tampa and came to New Zealand from Afghanistan as refugees in 2001. Abbas has just published a book on his experiences, “After The Tampa”, available on this link. Chris, a former long serving New Zealand Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister, worked in Afghanistan for four years leading UNDP’s regional governance programme. This public event is organised by the Helen Clark Foundation in solidarity with New Zealand’s Afghan community and to provide perspectives and information on the crisis in Afghanistan. All welcome.
